Montessori Preschool

Montessori Preschool

Welcome to Beehive School (Pre-School), where we have created a unique and enriching learning environment that combines the best of Montessori preschool education with the rich cultural heritage of Ghanaian education. Our hybrid approach offers a holistic and culturally responsive educational experience that nurtures your child's growth and development.

In our preschool, we embrace the principles of Montessori education, which emphasize independence, self-directed learning, and hands-on exploration. Our classrooms are carefully designed to foster a sense of wonder and curiosity, with child-sized furniture, low shelves, and a wide range of Montessori materials that engage the senses and encourage independent exploration.

At the same time, we recognize the importance of incorporating Ghanaian education and culture into our curriculum. We integrate Ghanaian traditions, values, and local content to ensure that our students develop a strong sense of identity and appreciation for their cultural heritage. Through stories, music, art, and activities, we celebrate Ghana's rich diversity and instill a deep sense of pride in our students.

Our curriculum combines the best elements of both educational approaches, covering a wide range of subjects including;
• Language which includes the use of the Montessori Language Approach (Pink Series) and the use of Jolly Phonics. This approach helps our children pick up early reading and become excellent readers at the end of Kindergarten which prepares them fully for Primary Education.
• Number Work which includes the use of the Montessori Math approach as well as abstract concepts.
• Science which helps children develop a natural curiosity about the world around them.
• Geography which introduces children to the world, different countries, cultures, and peoples of the world.
• Art which provides children with opportunities to express themselves creatively and develop their aesthetic senses.
• History which introduces children to the concept of time and sequence of events.
• Practical Life which is cornerstone of the Montessori curriculum. It provides children with opportunities to engage in real-world activities and develop practical skills that they will use throughout their lives and their environments. Children learn how to dress themselves, care for their own hygiene, and prepare simple foods and snacks among others which promotes independence and self-reliance.
• Sensorial which develops sensory awareness using Montessori Sensorial materials.
• Rhymes and Songs which requires children in a fun way to memorize and recall songs, which enhances their memory and concentration skills.
• Religious and Moral Education (R.M.E) where children learn about religion and religious tolerance.

In our hybrid model, teachers serve as guides, carefully observing and supporting each child's individual needs and interests. They create a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore, take risks, and learn from their mistakes. Our teachers also foster social and emotional development, teaching empathy, respect, and cooperation, ensuring that each child develops the essential skills for successful interpersonal relationships.

We understand that each child is unique, and our hybrid approach respects and celebrates their individuality. Through a combination of Montessori and Ghanaian educational practices, we provide a solid foundation for future academic success while fostering a strong sense of cultural identity and community.

Join us on this exciting educational journey, where the harmonious blend of Montessori preschool education and Ghanaian education creates an enriching and culturally responsive learning experience for your child. Together, we will nurture their innate curiosity, creativity, and love for learning, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world.
